This independent bookstore, named by the Guardian in 2005 as one of the world's 10 best bookstores, operated from 1979 to 2010. The photograph shows their Church Street location; in 2008 the store moved to Kensington Market. The "burning books" sign was later stolen, but eventually recovered.
